What Is Mendi?

Mendi, also spelled mandi, is a meat and rice dish that started in Yemen and is now cooked across the Arab world. The meat cooks slowly until tender, and its juices soak into the rice underneath. The yogurt on the side cuts through the richness.

At Darna, Lamb Mendi is slow-cooked lamb over mendi rice. Chicken Mendi is a half chicken slow-roasted over the same rice. You’ll find both on our Sunday buffet, every Sunday from 12 PM to 8 PM.
